  • At the end of February 2014, twenty growers and horticultural industry professionals from the UK visited Ontario and British Columbia on a greenhouse horticulture study tour, organised by the GrowSave team. The group visited 14 organisations which comprised of nurseries, R&D facilities and industry suppliers.
  • Updates to the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) came into effect on 1st July 2014. The changes included increased tariff rates, new technology eligibility and modified qualification rules.
  • The Feed-in Tariff (FiT) is a government subsidy paid for renewable electricity generation and is a fixed payment per kilowatt-hour (kWh) of electricity generated. The rate paid varies by technology and also by size of project, with small- to medium-scale installations receiving higher rates.
