GrowSave had the privilege of attending GreenTech Amsterdam between June 9-11th. As always, there were a great mix of businesses covering all aspects of growing.

However, from attending several talks and speaking with attendees throughout the event, there are two topics I’d like to highlight:
CO2
Several businesses are working in the alternative CO2 space; Skytree, Green Gas & Liquids, Noxcon, and Direct Carbon were four who we spoke with. Excitingly, some of the product offerings are viable on non-fossil combustion plant, such as biomass. As well, the direct air capture units which have previously been directed towards small enclosed vertical farms are getting larger and more promising for wider horticultural application.
Also spoke with Direct Carbon, a Swedish startup in the carbon capture space. Currently only manufacturing Wunderpumpe 2, 5, and 20 capable of 2-20kg/day respectively (up to mid-scale indoor farm level). Working towards 200kg/day for industrial application.
Automation
A definite theme for GreenTech Amsterdam 2025 was robotics & automation, with products and services spanning areas of scouting, pest control, sterilisation, picking, packing, and environmental control. This year, the winner of the Robot Challenge competition was SAIA Agrobotics with their automated greenhouse. This is an impressive demonstration site where each tomato plant is attached to a conveyor to fully automate movement, health tracking, and harvest.
