Energy efficiency is not just low-hanging fruit; it is fruit on the ground.Stephen Chu, US Secretary of Energy
Prices increase slightly for the first time in weeks
Earlier in the week, the warmer weather and the healthy supply of gas brought prices down. However, towards the end of the week, the strengthening of coal and carbon prices caused gas prices to rise for the first time in a while, with electricity following suit. Going forward, if Liquid Natural Gas stocks continue to grow, we could see gas prices remain stable with milder weather. However, with Brexit negotiations on-going, a weakness of pound sterling could send prices upwards. Another thing to consider is oil prices, if issues continue to increase in Venezuela, energy prices could rise.
