The carbon fall continues to reduce prices
The carbon price has seen losses of up to 3% this week due to the closure of coal facilities in Germany. Alongside above average temperature forecasts for the start of December, the cost of both electricity and gas are looking like they may go downwards. This has been assisted with continued healthy supply conditions in both Natural Gas and Liquefied Natural Gas storage which has driven supply risk premiums lower. Some upside pressure could be seen next week as carbon prices may attempt to correct this week’s heavy losses.
